BOYS HOCKEY: Blue Devils 1, Mound 0

FINAL: VIRGINIA BMI 1, MOUND 0

Score: Mound 0, Virginia BMI 1

This was a great hockey game to watch. Both teams played a fast-paced, back-and-forth game for three full periods. There were shots on goal on both ends of the ice in the last 15 seconds, and the game ended with the puck in the Virginia goalie’s glove. These teams looked very evenly matched.

Mound and Virginia ended the first period in a scoreless tie.

Virginia scored the game’s only goal on a power play with 1:17 remaining in the second period, on a puck tipped in off the stick of a Mound defender.

Both teams had quality scoring chances, played aggressive defense, and got some excellent play from their goaltenders.

Shots on goal:

Mound 5-5-9 = 19
Virginia 12-9-12=33
